This application brings together several tools that are of use to Rural Fire Service volunteers and fire management professionals in NSW. It includes:
◾ GPS location summary, providing both lat-long and grid references
◾ A utility for converting between lat-long and UTM grid references
◾ A utility for converting between grid and magnetic bearings
◾ A utility to record key incident times for post-event reporting
◾ Forest and grass fire danger index calculators (McArthur meters)
◾ Overall fuel hazard calculator
◾ The NSW Rural Fire Service fire fighters pocket book
Development of these tools started as a personal challenge, as there was nothing of this kind available for Android at that time. Requests and suggestions from friends and colleagues have taken the project from something that was very rough and basic to what you see here today. As such, suggestions for added features and feedback on bugs and performance are most welcome.
